Overview

About the Program

Since its inception in 2021, the Department of Agricultural Engineering at D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University, Talsande, Kolhapur, has been nurturing future-ready agricultural engineers through its B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programmes. The department integrates traditional agricultural practices with advanced engineering solutions to tackle the evolving challenges of modern agriculture. Our curriculum covers core areas such as farm mechanization, soil and water conservation, irrigation and drainage engineering, food process engineering, and renewable energy, along with advanced courses in precision agriculture, IoT-enabled smart farming, automation, drone technology, and remote sensing and GIS applications. Students gain hands-on experience through well-equipped laboratories, industry-linked projects, field demonstrations, and research initiatives. With a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and rural development, the department equips students with the skills and expertise to develop technology-driven solutions that enhance productivity, ensure food security, and advance the agricultural sector.
